Sri Racha

Sri Racha is located in Chonburi province, on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand, in 80 km from Bangkok city and in 30 km from Pattaya.
Siracha become popular owing to its same name sauce; Sri Racha Tiger and Koh Si Chang island.

Koh Sichang was the first island in Thailand that foreigners began to visit. They started come there over 100 years ago, at the end of the 19th century, and it was a noble European aristocracy. Secondly, it is the closest island to Bangkok and in the past the King himself rested here (even a summer residence was built, but then it was moved to Bangkok). Despite such a rich history, not too many people attend Koh Sichang currently except weekends when Thais come from Bangkok.

What to see and do?

In addition to the zoo, which is located east of the city, you can go to the island of Koh Loi, which is connected to the mainland by a kilometer-long bridge. There are many interesting things there. The second temple, or rather a small Thai temple complex, consisting of several buildings, is located on a hill. There are several statues of the Golden Buddha in human height, as well as an “alley” with bells (it is believed that their ringing frees from all sins). From the highest point of the temple complex (approximately the level of a 5-storey building), there are good panoramic views of the city and its coast.
